Job Description

Responsibilities

• Lead development and architecture of scalable, elastic, fault-tolerant distributed-system components.
• Define scalability requirements and optimize code and data paths for high-throughput workloads.
• Design redundancy, replication, failover, load-shedding, throttling, rate-limiting, validation, and synchronization mechanisms.
• Establish KPIs, telemetry, dashboards, alerts, and operational-readiness practices.
• Diagnose and resolve production issues while supporting operational excellence in a cloud DevOps environment.
• Develop security controls, remediation processes, compliance documentation, infrastructure as code, and automation for patching, updates, and rollbacks.
• Develop and review software across scoping, architecture, specification, implementation, source control, documentation, and testing.
• Work with distributed and cross-functional teams to deliver milestones, communicate risks, and provide mitigation strategies.
• Mentor peers and participate in technical decision-making and technical discussions.

Requirements

• Proficiency with C/C++ and scripting languages such as Python, Perl, or Bash.
• Hands-on experience developing multi-threaded embedded Linux applications or infrastructure.
• Experience with network or storage stacks and protocols such as P4, DOCA, TCP/IP, NVMe, PCIe, or DPDK.
• Firmware development and embedded-systems experience.
• Knowledge of Intel, AMD, or ARM computer architectures and experience with hardware or system bring-up.
• Experience with Linux kernel and driver programming and proficiency with Linux.
• Proficiency with virtualization technologies such as SR-IOV, VirtIO, or vDPA.
• Experience in CI/CD environments and comfort working with remote lab equipment.
• At least 11 years of software development experience, or a qualifying degree with 3 to 7 years of software development experience depending on degree level.
• At least 3 years of academic or professional experience with cloud platforms and 5 years of system-level testing and automation experience.
• At least 4 years of experience delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems.
• Demonstrated ability in data analysis, automation, compliance, quality assurance, scripting, software test planning, code review, embedded systems, software estimation, and agile methodologies.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical, troubleshooting, communication, collaboration, prioritization, and self-management skills.
